The first ever evaluation of the program found that awardees:

  • Obtained R01 grants within 3 years (37%) and 9 years (84%) after their TIG, totaling $638 million in R01 grants.
  • Earned tenure within 10 years with 50% earning tenure within five years of their TIG.
  • Published 12,018 peer reviewed publications and over 830,595 citations.
