Sarah Faubel, MD

Dr. Faubel is Professor of Medicine with Tenure in the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She is a physician scientist with an research focus on the systemic effect of acute kidney injury (AKI) in rodent models, and has also been funded for translational work in patients with AKI. She has a particular interest in the complications associated with continuous kidney replacement therapy for AKI. She has held many leadership roles in this area including serving as Chair of the American Society of Nephrology AKI Advisory Group. She has been funded by the NIH, VA, American Heart Association, the American Society of Nephrology and other funding sources throughout her research career and has over 100 publications in peer reviewed journals. Dr. Faubel also has a passion for teaching and mentoring as exemplified by her recent role in the medical school curriculum as Director of the Inquiry Content for the LIC year.
