Sarah Schrauben, MD, MSCE is Assistant Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology in the Division of Renal, Electrolyte, and Hypertension, and Department of Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Informatics at the Perelman School of Medicine and a Senior Scholar in the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a highly engaged member of two NIDDK-sponsored consortia, the Chronic Renal Insufficiency Cohort (CRIC) Study and the Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Biomarkers Consortium (BioCon). Dr. Schrauben has collaborated closely with the CRIC Study as a funded ancillary study investigator and has served at the Scientific and Data Coordinating Center (SDCC) for CKD BioCon since 2018, with experience in providing her epidemiology expertise and operational leadership. Much of Dr. Schrauben's research to date has focused on the prevention, treatment, and outcomes related to CKD, including traditional and non-traditional risk factors for disease progression and cardiovascular complications. Dr. Schrauben's research methodological foci include observational studies, survival analysis, and latent class analysis, with a special interest in identifying disease phenotypes. She is currently the PI of a NIDDK-sponsored K23 career development award focused on conducting a mixed methods study to investigate health behaviors for the prevention and management of CKD progression and cardiovascular complications.
